In The Bag

Well folks, night one is in the bag and I think we are in for an amazing tour. After hearing about half of the rehearsal I was interested in seeing how the show would come together. Well it is now obvious to me that the people in charge know what they are doing.   Musically, the night moved  from one artist to the next without skipping a beat and no act sounded out of place.  Every group on the tour also proved they new what they were doing.  Each artist had great sets and perfomred incredibly well.

I started this post a couple of time because I was at a loss of words over the evening.  So from here I am going to leave it up to you guys.  If you had the pleasure of watching the show tonight, what was your favorite part of the evening?  If you did not catch the show, make sure to check out the tour page to find out when we will be at a city near you, and you can always check out the show streaming live.

The Beginning: 2010

Day one of The Roadshow has finally arrived. Since the end of The Roadshow 2009, we have been planning and brainstorming new ways to make this year’s tour bigger and better. Needless to say we are a little excited to put these ideas into action and let you, the audience, participate with a tour like nothing else you’ve ever experienced. That’s right I said, “participate with.” Whether you are here at a show, following The Roadshow on twitter, a fan on Facebook, watching the live stream and chatting with new and old friends, we want you guys to be a part of what we are doing. Last year we were able to build of community of people who came together through The Roadshow and our goal this year is to make that community larger. To help with that we added The Roadshow on Foursquare, so make sure to check yourself in and see who else is attending the event with you.

Like I said, we are excited for the tour and we will be sharing new ideas and cool toys as we get to them. But for now, let’s get ready to rock and worship.

I Love Technology

So, most of you might have noticed something a little different on the live stream tonight.  Like the fact that it wasn’t there maybe?  And on the night that To Be Announced is playing too?  Can you believe it?!?  I know.  Complete let down of sorts, but allow me to explain.

We have this orange cord, that runs out of the video rack and directly into a computer.  This orange cord is a firewire cable that up to this point has worked perfectly.  And to my knowledge is still working flawlessly.  The problem is where that orange cord plugs into the computer.  It seems that the physical plug part on the computer has decided to break rendering the entire video process useless.  That’s right.  All video broadcasting is contingent on that cable connecting to that computer.  Tonight that did not happen.  Despite scrambling for over an hour to find replacement computers and different options, we were still unsuccessful.

Now here’s the amazing thing.  There were still nearly 100 people that showed up on the chat to hang out and talk about various things.  See, now this is the community that this whole thing is about.  This is the idea behind bringing people together for something more than a concert, and more than a live broadcast.  You people impress me.

So now we have a few days off, and the old computer will be sent in to the shop and we should be fully functional on Thursday to broadcast from Columbus, OH.  Thanks for sticking around tonight, and don’t worry, we’ve got some amazing footage of To Be Announced to post later right here on this blog.
